Dr. Luke and Kesha's bitter legal battle just got even more confusing
The lawsuit between Kesha and her former manager and music producer Dr. Luke has just escalated.
Kesha, whose real name is Kesha Rose Sebert, has made some horrifying claims against Dr. Luke, whose real name is Lukasz Gottwald, saying he had physically, emotionally and sexually abused her throughout their working relationship. And now the record producer has fired back, and he's not just battling it out with the "Tik Tok" hit maker, but also her mom, Pebe Sebert.
According to TMZ, Dr. Luke filed a new lawsuit on Tuesday in which he claims Pebe Sebert has orchestrated her daughter's claims to get her out of her recording contract, and that she has been extorting him with the smear campaign.
TMZ reports that the lawsuit claims Pebe wanted her daughter to break her contract, but when she could not legally terminate it she instead "fueled her daughter's anger over the deal and got her to spread lies that he raped her ... in order to shame him into letting her out of the deal."
The lawsuit also notes that both Kesha and her mother have sworn under oath that Dr. Luke has never touched the "Die Young" singer. During a deposition that Kesha gave in another case back in 2011, she denied the fact that Dr. Luke had ever laid a hand on her, which directly conflicts with her current lawsuit.
Dr. Luke is now suing Pebe for more than $75,000 in compensatory damages and punitive damages on top of that.
It doesn't look as though this bitter feud is going to end anytime soon.
