Joshua Jackson may not have any plans to head down the aisle with his long-term girlfriend Diane Kruger, at least not anytime soon, but that doesn't mean he doesn't treat her like a lady.

Jackson and Kruger appear to be perfectly happy together and have been in a loving, committed relationship since 2006, and although the actor doesn't think he needs a marriage certificate to prove his love (he recently made these views very clear during an interview with Glamour magazine) he does think it's important to keep chivalry alive.

During an interview with Us Weekly at GQ's Gentlemen's Ball in New York City, New York, on Wednesday, the Dawson's Creek alum revealed how important being a gentleman is for him.

So, what was the last nice thing he did for his girlfriend?

"Ahhh... let's see, the last nice thing I did... " he pondered, before telling the publication, "Well, I am flying to Paris tomorrow to go see her for the weekend. That's pretty nice, if I do say so myself."

And when it comes to splitting the bill during a date, that's a big no-no for Jackson.

"Nah, can't do that," Jackson told the publication. "Unless the woman specifically asks," he reflected, but even then, the Fringe actor has a personal tip for the men of this world: "You should always pay the bill."

"Chivalry is part of being a gentleman," he explained, "but I don't think actually being composed at all times is gentlemanly."
