Katy Perry's 30th birthday celebration just got majorly downgraded
Katy Perry wanted to say goodbye to her 20s by celebrating the milestone in Egypt, but as the old saying goes, you can't always get what you want.
On Thursday, Oct. 23, a source close to the Hollywood Reporter unveiled that the always colorful pop star had to cancel a major 30th birthday celebration in Egypt at the last minute. Not only was the entertainer planning on partying it up in the heat and checking out some tourist stops, but she even had her heart set on cruising down the Nile River. Note to self: Katy Perry really doesn't play when it comes to birthdays.
Unfortunately, the whole trip was thrown out the window due to "safety reasons" when all the nitty-gritty details of her itinerary surfaced. Perry must have had a backup plan ready to go because Us Weekly reported that she and her entourage have rerouted the big celebration to Morocco.
Even though she didn't get original birthday wish, things aren't terribly bad for the singer. Just earlier this week, the pop chameleon checked off one of the items on her bucket list, and we're not talking about her jab at Louisiana State University. Shakey's Pizza actually offered the singer a birthday shout-out on their exterior signage. Perry took to Instagram to post a photo of her shout-out on Monday, Oct. 20 and send some major props to her best friend Sophia for pulling through.
After Perry enjoys her birthday extravaganza, it's back to work for the California girl as she's set to continue her Prismatic World Tour with the Australia and New Zealand leg of the trek on Nov. 7. Aside from her touring obligations, Perry is also likely brainstorming ideas for her highly anticipated Super Bowl XLIX halftime show in early February.
