It’s a photo that in hindsight tells a million tales of stars rising and falling — but that shoot taught one actress an incredible lesson about the biz, and she has never looked back.
Evan Rachel Wood took us on a walk down memory lane when Twitter user @katiexwright posted the single greatest Vanity Fair cover of all time: A collection of 2003’s brightest female teen stars, including Amanda Bynes, Mary-Kate and Ashley Olsen, Mandy Moore, Hilary Duff, Alexis Bledel, Wood, Raven-Symoné and Lindsay Lohan.

Obviously, we now know that some (like the Olsen twins) have done much, much better than others (we’re looking at you, Lohan). Don’t even get us started on Amanda Bynes right now. In 2003, though, there was no way to tell what fates would befall the then-teens.
Wood said she learned an important lesson that day, one that she has carried with her throughout her career and may be responsible for the fact that she is on the saner end of the spectrum than some others in the shoot. She explained on Twitter:
I was almost in tears after this shoot. They tried that dress on me, I wasnt comfortable but they told me there was no time– @katiexwright
