6 Reasons why Channing Tatum is smarter than he thinks he is
Channing Tatum is probably one of the nicest guys in Hollywood, but according to him, he's not the brightest.
The 21 Jump Street actor recently revealed in an interview with T: The New York Times Style Magazine that he has never felt like the smartest person; but why?
"I have never considered myself a very smart person, for a lot of reasons. Not having early success on that one path messes with you," he told the publication. "You get lumped in classes with kids with autism and Down syndrome, and you look around and say, OK, so this is where I'm at. Or you get put in the typical classes and you say, All right, I'm obviously not like these kids either. So you're kind of nowhere. You're just different. The system is broken. If we can streamline a multibillion-dollar company, we should be able to help kids who struggle the way I did."
The thing is, Channing Tatum is so much smarter than he even realizes.
1. His Hollywood star is rising
Over the years, Channing Tatum has become a household name, and it's not just because of teen movies or romcoms. Tatum has proved he is a force to be reckoned with in the acting world, thanks to his diversity and his killer sense of humor.
2. He's practiced the art of kung fu
Not everyone can fight, and to learn to do it properly takes time and dedication, qualities that Tatum clearly possesses. Why? Because he has practiced the art of Wuzuquan kung fu, according to the New York Daily News. As a child, he trained under 10th dan Grandmaster Chee Kim Thong.
3. He needed no guidebook on how to be a great dad
Tatum became a dad for the first time in May 2013 and he is clearly loving being a father to his baby daughter, Everly. And unlike many other celeb (and regular) dads, he's super-hands-on and is even willing to change his daughter's diaper — even if he has to engage in a dance battle with his wife to see who gets the honors.
4. He knows just what a woman wants
How many guys can say they know what women really want? Well, Mr. Tatum is doing something right when it comes to the ladies, and it's not just because he's super-easy on the eyes. Take his wife Jenna Dewan, for instance — she's been completely captivated with him since they met on set of their 2006 movie Step Up. That's nine years without breakups, which is about a century in Hollywood relationship terms.
5. So he's not book smart, so what — he can move
Channing Tatum is a seriously skilled dancer. If you ever watched Step Up, you undoubtedly fell in love with him. Being skilled at something in an arts field is just as impressive as being book smart. Oh, and just in case you didn't know, he got his first dancing gig in Ricky Martin's "She Bangs" video, according to IMDb.
6. He's got a business eye
Not only is he a man of many skills, he has also got a sharp business eye and according to Variety, Tatum, Reid Carolin and veteran manager Peter Kiernan are partners in a production company called Free Association.
