It isn’t easy being a celebrity in Hollywood. Even after you’ve made it in the eyes of the public, there is still a Hollywood hierarchy that stars have to abide by.
An awkward moment on the red carpet of American Horror Story: Freak Show proved that the A-list versus B-list does exist. Lea Michele was posing for photographers wearing a gorgeous green velvet dress by Cushnie Et Ochs when the star of the series, Jessica Lange, walked by.
The Glee actress was prepared to have a moment with the two-time Oscar-winning star as she passed by on the red carpet. Michele looked at Lange and was seen mouthing “hi” to the AHS vet. Lange didn’t even glance at Michele; she continued to look straight ahead and walk on by without acknowledging the starlet.
Michele tried to save face by swinging her hair back and self-consciously brushing it with her fingers. She then goes right back into paparazzi mode and begins posing like nothing ever happened just moments before.
The incident was captured on Vine for the most uncomfortable six seconds and captioned by BuzzFeed writer Ryan Broderick, “Ultra-cringe on the red carpet of the American Horror Story: Freak Show premiere.”
Michele was there to support Glee creator Ryan Murphy who is also the creator of AHS. She tweeted out a photo of the two of them together on the red carpet on Tuesday night.
