Ready for more Twilight? Five new short films will be created featuring the characters from Twilight and be shown on Facebook. What will the short films be about? We don’t know, but here are some ideas.
After making five feature films out of the Twilight books by Stephenie Meyer, Lionsgate has decided to find five female directors to create short films based on Twilight‘s popular vampires and werewolves called The Storytellers — New Creative Voices of The Twilight Saga. But these movies won’t be showing at your local movie theater. They will air exclusively on Facebook. Way to go, Team Zuckerberg!
After perusing some of the Twilight fan fiction sites, we’ve highlighted eight story lines that we think would make for intriguing, if not strange, short films.
(All plot titles and posts taken verbatim from Facebook.)
1) Illusory by Jules
Plot: “Bella’s a workaholic editor with no time for herself. Edward can’t get over an incident from his time as a soldier. When Bella is in an accident and slips into a coma, Edward rents her old apartment, only to find that her still living spirit is haunting him!”
We love the “workaholic editor” aspect of Bella’s character and think its a totally fresh take. We’re guessing that once she’s in the coma, she turns into a hauntaholic.
2) A Princess among Thieves by Southernbella86
Plot: “What happens as Bella and Edward wade their way through the mess of living deep within the life of a motorcycle club? Will their love conquer all? Or will something bigger than both of them tear them apart?”
Clearly, Southernbella86 has been watching a lot of Sons of Anarchy lately. We actually think putting vampires on motorcycles and dressing them in leather is hot, so we hope one of the female directors goes for it. Maybe Charlie Hunnam will make a cameo?
3) The People in My Head by bob2534
Plot: “Bella knew that things were bad when she woke up. They got worse when the annoying voice materialized at the back of her consciousness, and took over her body from time to time. And things totally went to hell when she discovered that she’d been injected with metal by the government to turn her into a supersoldier.”
A super soldier? You mean, like the character Kristen Stewart plays in her new film Camp X-Ray? We love that idea, especially the part about hearing voices in her head. This is a truly unique take on the Twilight franchise.
4) Shut Your Eyes by SnowWhiteQueen
Plot: “After the tragic death of Edward’s girlfriend, Tanya, he tries hard to move on. With the help of his best friend, Jacob, he gets the attention of Bella, the new girl next door. But Edward can’t stop thinking; how the hell did she die? That phone call that told her, Seven days. . .that couldn’t have been real. . .could it?”
So this appears to be inspired by The Ring and travels into horror territory. We think Edward and Bella could actually use some terror in their lives, so we say bring it on.
5) Lessons Extracted Though Using Sex for Underpaid Computer Knucklehead by Katie_Winkles
Plot: “Long time platonic friends Edward and Bella look to solve their cash-flow problems by making an adult movie together. They have always been comfortable with each other, but will they be able to keep it friendly when the cameras roll?”
We’re guessing this would probably be too racy for Facebook, but if Fifty Shades of Grey is getting a movie, why not this?
6) Holiday Hell by KristenLynn
Plot: “Twilight meets Christmas Vacation. Carlisle as Clark, Edward and Bella as the trailer-trash cousins-in-law, Aunt Bethany’s cat. Need I say more?”
We think this could be the feel-good movie for the holidays. Who doesn’t want to see the Cullens in a trailer park?
7) Across the Years by AMayes
Plot: “Edward Cullen receives a letter from a stranger by the name of Isabella Swan, and discovers they are separated…by two years. He lives in 2007; she in 2009. Through a mystical mailbox they are are able to communicate…and fall in love.”
Not sure about the idea to separate Edward and Bella by just two years, but we guess it will add bit of drama when she gets the new iPhone way before him. What we do love is that this could be an updated, supernatural version of the romantic classic You’ve Got Mail.
8) Vampire Hunter Nessie: Tales of the Frontier by Master of the Boot
Plot: “A demonic breed of vampire rule the night, but their numbers are dwindling. With huge bounties on their heads, a new class of hunter has emerged, Bounty Hunters. One vampire hunter is unlike all others, she is Renesmee, the cutest and most lovable vampire hunter in the entire frontier.”
Finally, a story where Renesmee is the heroine! We can only imagine how awkward it’s going to be when a bounty gets put on the head of her mom or pop.
