George Clooney’s engagement was a big surprise to pretty much everyone, but his wedding was very well planned. Although women across the world may be mourning the end of Clooney’s reign as the World’s Most Eligible Bachelor, people are taking it in all different ways.
It helps that Clooney chose pretty much the world’s most perfect woman to marry. Amal Alamuddin is not only beautiful but also smart and has a career of her own — the new Mrs. George Clooney works as a human rights lawyer in London.
Clooney and Alamuddin’s wedding was a star-studded affair in Venice. It was attended by Bill Murray, Matt Damon and his wife Luciana, and Cindy Crawford and her husband Rande Gerber, according to CBS News. The guests and the groom were taken to the Venice ceremony in a water taxi.
So what did the Twitterverse have to say about Clooney and Alamuddin’s nuptials? Although the reaction was mixed, the general consensus seemed to be that most women (and some men) were surprised they weren’t marrying George Clooney instead.
Wife: "Huh, George Clooney got married today."
Me: "You okay?"
