Danity Kane set to release new album post-breakup
Danity Kane is keeping their promise and putting their fans first. Even though the pop&B trio had a falling out this summer when Dawn Richard physically assaulted Aubrey O'Day, it seems like plans to release their long-awaited third album, DK3, are marching on as planned with an Oct. 28 release date.
In an Instagram video, which was posted late Tuesday morning, Sept. 25, O'Day and fellow member, Shannon Bex, made the big announcement, stressing that their DediKated Krew will always come first.
"What's up, DK Fans? I just wanted to let you guys know that I love you and miss you so much," O'Day says in the video. "And because you guys never gave up on us, Shannon and I haven't given up on you." Bex later appears and informs viewers that the pre-sale for their new album begins Friday, Sept. 26 at midnight and the album will drop on Oct. 28. Despite O'Day and Bex reaching out to the Danity Kane fan base, Richard has yet to make a statement on the upcoming project.
Among the 10 tracks set to appear on DK3 are their previously released first single, "Lemonade," and the new cuts they performed at their No Filter tour, including "Rhythm of Love" and "Rage." In addition to the artwork and track list, snippets of the songs have made their way onto the internet.
After all the lack of proper business that went down during their time at Diddy's Bad Boy Records during their beginning years, it seems like the trio decided to go the independent route, as DK3 will be released via Mass Appeal Records, which is an indie label based in Boston, Massachusetts.
