Kelly Clarkson to get the ultimate honor at Musicians On Call
Good work does pay off. Just ask Kelly Clarkson. She'll be one of the honorees at Musicians On Call's 15th anniversary celebration. Alongside Republic Records executive vice president, Charlie Walk, the former American Idol champ will be recognized for her involvement with the nonprofit organization, which helps bring live music and recordings to the bedsides of hospital patients across the United States.
Clarkson won't be the only star on hand, either. Jessie J, Nick Jonas and Shawn Mendes will also attend the event and perform at the celebration, taking place at New York City's Espace venue on Nov. 18th. Surprise performances are also expected to take place during the event. Tickets are currently on sale.
Even though she's enjoying her time as a new mom to baby girl, River Rose, Clarkson can't wait to bring her voice to even more hospital patients around the country. "Being involved with Musicians On Call has been one of the most rewarding experiences of my career," she said in a statement. "I consider it a great gift to be able to share music and bring smiles to these brave children and their loved ones. It is healing for us all and I can't wait to do it again!" Big ups to Kelly and all her charitable work.
Since Musicians On Call was founded in 1999, major chart toppers, like Pharrell Williams and Justin Bieber, have participated in the cause. Most recently, Nick Jonas performed for patients at the Children's Hospital at Montefiore in the Bronx, New York City.
