Stephanie Hayden Ford, the daughter of Sons of Guns star and accused child molester Will Hayden, has opened up about her father during an emotional interview on Dr. Phil.
During the interview, Ford shed light on what she feels about the allegations against her father, and if she believes them to be true.
Will Hayden was arrested on child molestation and rape charges for allegedly molesting his 12-year-old daughter. He is now facing another charge of rape as an accuser has come forward and claimed that Hayden forcibly raped her 22 years ago when she was just 12 years old.
During an interview with Dr. Phil, which was broadcast on Thursday, Sept. 11, Ford divulged details for the first time about the abuse that she suffered at the hands of her father, TMZ reports.
In a clip, Ford can be heard telling Dr. Phil that she is opening up so that other little girls know that it is OK to speak out and someone will listen to them.
“I know for one, my sister needs me. She needs someone who can speak for her and be on her side. That’s the main reason,” Ford said of why she was only coming forward now. “And also because I have a responsibility. I am also in the public eye and there are little girls all over this world and I need them to know that there is a way that you can tell someone and they will help you.”
It is reported that the emotion and stress of her revelation caused Ford to faint and she reportedly blacked out during the interview. 911 was called but the former Discovery Channel star managed to regain consciousness by the time EMTs arrived.
