Paris Hilton's younger brother Conrad Hilton was involved in a car crash near Palm Springs, California, over the weekend.

The hotel heir apparently lost control of his BMW and crashed on a highway, leaving him with major injuries. It is believed he was speeding at the time of the incident and that when he tried to change lanes, he hit a Volkswagen that caused him to spiral out of control, and he ended up hitting a tractor.

California Highway Patrol Sgt. Daniel Hesser said on Tuesday that Conrad was taken from the accident scene to Desert Regional Medical Center, Fox News reports.

According to the network, Conrad, 19, had to be pulled by firefighters from his vehicle using the jaws of life.

Police determined that neither alcohol nor drugs were factors in the collision, but Hesser said the CHP received reports about a reckless driver before the crash happened. Officers were not in pursuit at the time although a CHP helicopter crew did witness Conrad's crash.

Conrad's condition is still unknown.

However, according to TMZ, the crash was not quite as serious as we may think, and that Conrad only sustained minor injuries, such as a few bruises, cuts and a fractured hand.

This is not the first time Conrad has had an accident while behind the wheel. Back in 2011, he smashed his car into a parked car while speeding down a residential street in Brentwood, Los Angeles, California.
