Ashley Tisdale has been busy lately! Between getting engaged to rocker Christopher French and working on a new show called Buzzy’s, she’s somehow managed to find time to produce a web series for the Lindt chocolatiers called It Started With Hello. We sat down with the actress to find out more.
“I am co-producing one of the episodes called Office Mates. There are going to be five episodes of short romantic comedies in a web series showcasing the Lindt collection of chocolates called Hello,” Tisdale said.
What’s unique about these episodes, however, is, “The viewers get to choose the ending. I think that’s really awesome,” Tisdale said. Apparently, the viewer can click on one of two possible endings, making it an interactive experience.
Tisdale admitted she’s a “huge chocolate lover” and said, “It was exciting to be a part of this project, I got a humongous box of chocolate delivered to my house. They are all so good!”
Producing seems to come naturally to Tisdale, who said, “I like being creative behind the camera as well as in front of the camera.”
We asked Tisdale why love and chocolate seem to go so well together. “For me, chocolate just always makes me feel better. My favorite chocolate ever is the Lindt sea-salt dark chocolate, it’s absolutely amazing.”
We also asked the High School Musical star about her new show Buzzy’s. “The show takes place in Boston in a barbershop. I play the role of Danni. She’s kind of like the guy’s guy. All the kids in the barbershop all grew up with each other.
“You have the kid who was the coolest guy in high school and now, he’s our boss and kind of douchey. Then there’s A.J. (Mike Castle), who I had a thing with at prom and since then, it’s been kind of a Rachel/Ross type relationship.”
Tisdale said she relates to her character Danni because, “At one point when I was young, I totally ran with the guys. I tried to be a tomboy even though I wasn’t the best at it. I wanted to be cool with all at the dudes.”
Buzzy’s will run on TBS in 2015, and you can look for the web series It Started With Hello on YouTube.com/ThePlatform. Tisdale’s episode premieres on Sept. 18.
