Jeremy Scott on dressing Ariana Grande at the VMAs (VIDEO)
Fashion designer Jeremy Scott talked about his inspiration on dressing Ariana Grande for the MTV Video Music Awards and revealed how he really made her leather dress.
Scott, who is known for his outlandish fashions, stopped by to speak with SheKnows at the VMAs red carpet Sunday night and dished all about decking out Grande for the big event. "I dressed little Ariana Grande, who I think looks amazing!" he said.
"It's like a motorcycle jacket redone as a black leather minidress," Scott revealed when asked how he came about the "Problem" singer's outfit. "It's super-sexy, fun and, you know, a little bit rebellious."
While he didn't have much time to scope out all the fashions, Scott did love Chanel Iman's look and really dug all the crazy ensembles that are the usual trademark of the VMAs.
"There's always great looks here," he said. "That's what's really exciting about the VMAs — people just really let it go."
The famed fashion mogul added that this was his very first time at the VMAs, although he did attend the Emmy Music Awards before. "Two years ago I went with Katy [Perry] to the EMAs and I gave an award to Bruno Mars," he said.
As far as who he was looking forward to seeing perform later on that night, Scott said he had lots of favorites, but there were a few special acts he couldn't wait to see onstage.
"I'm excited to see Ariana open it up," he said. "[I'm excited to see] Rita and Iggy do 'Black Widow' and Nicki do 'Anaconda' and of course Beyoncé, Beyoncé, Beyoncé."
