Chris Pratt gets in character as Star-Lord at children's hospital
Aside from starring in more than a few blockbusters as of late, Chris Pratt is making sure to take the time to give back.
Pratt greeted fans at Children's Hospital Los Angeles on Wednesday, dressed in full Guardians of the Galaxy costume. According to E! News, Pratt spent time with the kids reading lines from the movie and handing out toys. He graciously signed autographs and even let some of the kids try on his outfit.
Pratt's visit preceded a special screening of the film just for the patients, family and staff at the hospital. Pratt initially came as himself, but during the screening, snuck off to don his Star-Lord outfit as a surprise for the kids.
E! News said that Pratt spent some extra time with one patient in particular, Dylan Prunty, who is a big fan of The Lego Movie and recognized the actor's voice. Pratt performed the voice of character Emmet Brickowoski in the 2014 film.
Pratt also made sure that children who were too sick to attend the screening weren't left out. He made sure to stop by the Bone Marrow Transplant Unit, the Children's Center for Cancer and Blood Diseases and the Pediatric ICU.
All in all, Pratt reportedly spent about three hours with the kids.
Children's Hospital Lost Angeles tweeted a thank-you message to Pratt, including an image of the actor with Prunty.
As if we didn't already think Pratt was awesome!
It seems like celebrities are really upping the charitable ante this summer. Between all the ALS Ice Bucket Challenges (which Pratt himself recently completed) and hospital visits, our favorite A-listers are making us proud. We say, keep it up!
