Dave Grohl loses father, welcomes third child
Dave Grohl is experiencing a sad loss and a beautiful gain this month. The Foo Fighters singer lost his dad, but he welcomed his third child with wife, Jordyn Blum.
Grohl's dad was battling a long-term illness and passed away on Aug. 6. Grohl announced both life milestones on the David Grohl Alley Scholarship Program's Facebook page on Aug. 8
The couple's new baby girl, Ophelia Grohl, joins big sisters, Violet Maye, 8, and Harper Willow, 5. The duo has been married for 11 years.
Us Weekly revealed that the couple was pregnant back in February. The biggest challenge for the proud parents was coming up with a name for their newest arrival.
Besides welcoming a new addition to the household, Grohl and the Foo Fighters hit the hottest trend on the internet on Tuesday — the ALS Ice Bucket Challenge. The group paid homage to the horror flick, Carrie, after country singer Zac Brown challenged them.
They cleverly reenacted Carrie's blood-soaked prom moment using water instead. Grohl then went on to challenge the creator of the Carrie saga, Stephen King, as well as star of the original 1976 film, John Travolta.
In the meantime, Grohl has his hands full with three beautiful little girls and his new HBO show, Sonic Highways, which will coincide with the band's 20th anniversary in the fall.
Congratulations, Dave and Jordyn!
