Robbie Amell of the canceled series The Tomorrow People is engaged to his girlfriend of six years, Italia Ricci.
To announce the happy news, Amell posted a photo of the proposal on Instagram and captioned it with, “She said yes!!!…I think. I can’t really be sure. I’m going marry my best friend. @italiaricci.”
Upon posting the news, Amell received messages of congratulations from fellow Tomorrow People costar Luke Mitchell, who wrote, “ABOUT TIME!! Haha! Congratulations guys!” as well as form The Vampire Diaries cocreator, Julie Plec, E! News reported.
While Amell’s CW show was canceled after just one season, he will star in another of the network’s new series, Flash, and will play the lead role of Firestorm. The show is a spin-off of Arrow, based on the DC Comics hero, which stars Amell’s cousin, Stephen Amell.
The CW hit will begin its third season this fall and has remained one of The CW’s best-rated shows. Stephen is married to former America’s Next Top Model contestant Cassandra Jean, and they have a 10-month-old daughter named Mavi.
Amell’s future wife, Ricci, stars in her own show, ABC Family’s Chasing Life, portraying April Carver, a young reporter diagnosed with leukemia.
The pair celebrated their sixth year of dating just last month, announcing the news with a sweet message from Ricci to her longtime love.
“Happy 6 year anniversary to my favorite person in the entire world. I love you so much,” Ricci wrote on Twitter. “Also, you’re pretty good-looking. @robbieamell.”
