Kid Rock adds becoming a grandfather to his résumé
Kid Rock may enjoy a wild lifestyle, but that could all change when he becomes a grandpa!
That's right, the "All Summer Long" hit maker is apparently going to become a granddad for the first time because his son, Bobby Ritchie Jr., is expecting his first child with his girlfriend, Us Weekly reports.
Apparently, Kid Rock, whose real name is Robert James Ritchie, will be a grandpa in just five months' time, because his son — whom he shares with ex-girlfriend Kelley South Russell — is expecting a baby girl!
Kid Rock won custody of his son when he was 7 years old, and Rock went on to raise him, mostly on his own.
The rock-rapper previously revealed to M Live that fatherhood is important to him and that he couldn't imagine not taking care of his son.
"(Not taking care of my son) didn't seem like an option. Who would do that? It might have something to do with my upbringing. Thanks mom!" he told the site.
In fact, it is believed Kid Rock even divorced Pamela Anderson, after just four months of marriage, because of his son.
Previously talking to Howard Stern about his divorce, the rocker said, "[The relationship] started to affect my son, when it started to affect my son, I was like 'I'm out.' It took me a minute, but thank God I did."
It is believed Anderson criticized Rock's mother and sister, two figures who were instrumental in helping him to raise his son. This upset his son, and that's when Rock decided to kick the Baywatch actress to the curb.
And it's those parental instincts that make us think Kid Rock will be a great grandpa.
Congratulations to Ritchie Jr. and his girlfriend!
