Demi Lovato on why she unfollowed Selena Gomez on Twitter
Selena Gomez and Demi Lovato have been friends since they were little kiddos on Barney & Friends, but things clearly took a turn for the worse this summer when Lovato unfollowed her best friend on Twitter, leading many to believe that there's bad blood between the two.
Lovato, who is currently prepping for her upcoming world tour, made an appearance on Watch What Happens Live with Andy Cohen on Thursday night, Aug. 18, and finally spoke out on the social media rift. When asked the tough question, she hesitated a moment. Cohen even tried to help her out, inquiring whether the media was simply blowing things out of proportion, but the former Disney starlet only offered a vague explanation.
"I think it's just one of those things where people changed and people grow apart," she told viewers of the unfollowing in July. With her moment of silence and awkward delivery, it's likely far from the truth about their falling-out.
Aside from their professional working relationship, both girls have played a prominent role in helping each other through rough times. While Lovato went through her hardships a couple of years ago, she had Gomez by her side the entire time. And when Gomez went through her own hardships with on-again off-again boyfriend Justin Bieber and her own stint in rehab back in January, she had Lovato to lean on.
Cohen also played his version of Kill, Marry, F*** with Lovato, giving the singer quite a few controversial choices like Justin Bieber, Simon Cowell and Joe Jonas. Interestingly enough, there was no hesitation when she decided to ax the Biebs right off the bar. Sounds like we might know the reason for their rift after all.
