Star Trek Into Darkness's Alice Eve is engaged
Star Trek fans everywhere may be in mourning — Alice Eve is officially off the market. The Into Darkness actress announced her engagement to U.K. financier, Alex Cowper-Smith.
Eve and Cowper-Smith met as teens at the Westminster School in London and were high-school sweethearts. According to People, they later split and Eve met Adam O'Riordan while studying at Oxford. The couple broke up in 2012 and Eve eventually found Cowper-Smith again.
Eve is the daughter of actors and, although she was born in London, her family moved to Los Angeles when she was a child so her dad could try to make it in American film. They moved back to the U.K. when she was 13.
Before landing the role of a lifetime in Star Trek, Eve worked in London TV and cinema for years before making her way to the U.S. Her first big role was alongside Harrison Ford and Ashley Judd in 2009's Crossing Over. She also starred with Jay Baruchel in She's Out of My League, as well as Entourage and Sex and the City 2.
In She's Out of My League, Eve played every guy's dream girl. At the time, she talked about what made her so desirable — being smart, funny and a good person — and may have given some insight into what she looks for in a partner.
"That's what makes her the 10. She's all the things that make a good person," Eve told SheKnows back in 2010. "For it to be taken away that she's a perfect 10 aesthetically would be missing the whole point of the movie."
Congrats to the happy couple!
