Girls star Allison Williams nabs a role in Peter Pan Live
Allison Williams has proven that she's a woman of many talents. Not only is she impressing the world in her role as Marnie Michaels in the hit TV series, Girls , but she's also just nabbed the role of Peter Pan in NBC's live musical production.
The network was thrilled to announce via Twitter on Wednesday, July 30 that Williams will be starring in the production, alongside Christopher Walken as Captain Hook.
"Dreams do come true! #Girls star Allison Williams will play Peter Pan in #PeterPanLive!" NBC tweeted.
"We couldn't be happier that Allison Williams is our Peter Pan," NBC boss, Robert Greenblatt, said in a statement, E! News reports. "She's a lovely rising star on the award-winning show Girls — where she occasionally shows off her incredible vocal talent — and we think she will bring the perfect blend of 'boyish' vulnerability and bravado to save the day against Christopher Walken's powerful Captain Hook."
However, it's not just the network that is happy about the 26-year-old actress joining the production; Williams herself gushed about her latest role during a press release.
"I have wanted to play Peter Pan since I was about 3 years old, so this is a dream come true," she said. "It's such an honor to be a part of this adventure, and I'm very excited to get to work with this extraordinarily talented team.
"And besides," the brunette beauty added, "what could go wrong in a live televised production with simultaneous flying, sword fighting and singing?"
Williams also shared an Instagram photo of herself as a child, which reiterated her excitement.
"Thrilled to be playing Peter Pan live on NBC in December. I've been rehearsing for a REALLY long time," she captioned the throwback pic.
Peter Pan Live! will air on NBC on Thursday, Dec. 4.
