Iggy Azalea is having one heck of a summer. After dominating the airwaves
with her anthem “Fancy”
for months, the Australian raptress is making a move to the big screen in Fast & Furious 7, according to one of the film’s stars, Vin Diesel.
In a recent interview, Diesel told Skyrock FM that he worked with the blond bombshell two weeks ago for a cameo in the film, which is set to open on April 3, 2015. Iggy joins an all-star list of actors for the film, including Ludacris, Dwayne Johnson, Michelle Rodriguez and the late Paul Walker. Azalea’s close relationship with friend and collaborator Rita Ora might have been her segue into the film since Ora appeared in past installments of the film. Most recently, the two were spotted on the set of a diner, filming a music video for Azalea’s new single “Black Widow.”
Just a few weeks back, Fast & Furious 7 stars Diesel and Tyrese celebrated the bittersweet end to the filming the movie at the production wrap party. In an Instagram post, Tyrese rejoiced in the milestone, writing, “Through prayers and determination and moving forward inspired by my heart Paul Walker we got through.”
News of Azalea’s casting comes days after it was announced that she’ll serve as the host of MTV’s House of Style, which premieres on Monday, Aug. 4. Not only will she hit some of LA’s best vintage stores with fashion designer Jeremy Scott, but she’ll also take the show behind the scenes of some of the hottest music videos, including one by her friend Ora.
