Maksim Chmerkovskiy reveals he’s done performing on DWTS

After walking away with the Mirror Ball trophy last season, Maksim Chmerkovskiy revealed he’s done with performing on Dancing With the Stars.

The Ukrainian hunk appeared on The View Tuesday, July 29, and announced his decision to stop dancing on the popular reality competition. “I’m done dancing. I feel like it’s time,” he said on the daytime talk show.

Chmerkovskiy went on explaining how he has changed since returning to the show after leaving in 2013.

“When I came back, I saw this amazing talent,” he said. “I looked at it and thought they can do much more and better. I was taking up a huge spot.”

The dancer originally left the show after Season 16 and said he was done then. However, Chmerkovskiy came back for Season 18 and actually won first place with partner Meryl Davis for the first time in his DWTS run.

But, soon after his win, the professional ballroom champ hinted he was done with the ABC show during an interview with Social Life magazine.

“I want Meryl to be the last person I dance with,” Chmerkovskiy said. “The last person I got to be passionate with and care so much for.”

While rumors flew that Chmerkovskiy and Davis were more than partners and actually had a romantic relationship together, the pair has denied the reports. But the handsome DWTS fan favorite did reveal that he’s ready to settle down and have kids.

“I raised so many children at the studio that I am ready to create one of my own,” Chmerkovskiy said. “I am really ready to have a family now. I need an outlet. I have so much I want to give, and I need someone to give it to.”
