The star is trying hard to kick his addiction to alcohol and avoid doing anything bizarre in the press that could potentially embarrass his co-star Pitt during their upcoming international press tour for the much anticipated World War II film Fury, TMZ reports.
Apparently, the Lawless actor has decided it’s time he got help after his behavior took a turn for the worse when he was arrested in New York City, New York, last month for his disruptive and rude outburst during a Broadway performance of Cabaret.
At the time of the incident, LaBeouf’s publicist confirmed that the actor would be seeking professional help, saying, “He understands that these recent actions are a symptom of a larger health problem and he has taken the first of many necessary steps towards recovery.”
“Contrary to previous erroneous reports, Shia LaBeouf has not checked into a rehabilitation facility but he is voluntarily receiving treatment for alcohol addiction,” the publicist said.
The actor is taking his treatment seriously, knowing that he won’t just be representing himself, but also acting great Pitt — he plays a soldier under the command of Wardaddy (who is played by Pitt).
It seems that Fury, which, according to the Daily Mail is set to hit U.S. theaters in November, is not only going to help LaBeouf get his personal problems together, but also his acting career.
