Lil' Kim introduces blogosphere to baby daughter Royal Reign
Some celebrities unveil their newborn's first public photo to People. Some celebrities simply keep their child's photos private until the paparazzi finally snap a shot. Over the weekend, Lil' Kim took to the blogosphere to show off her baby daughter Royal Reign via her Instagram feed on her 40th birthday.
In a lengthy post, the Queen Bee thanked her Beehive for all the birthday messages and thought it would be appropriate to share the first image of her baby girl on her big day. Calling her "the greatest gift" she'd ever received, Kim told fans that the birth of her daughter was a life-changing event. "I want to share a small piece of my pride and joy with U on my special day today!" she ended her message. At time of press, the photo of Royal Reign had racked up more than 21,004 likes and 1,807 comments.
Lil' Kim announced her pregnancy back in February during New York's Fashion Week. Chatting with Us Weekly, the raptress shared her plans on balancing motherhood and her career, saying, "I'm so excited! I'm a few months along, I can't wait to be a mom. I'm still going to work. I'm still going to be hardcore. The baby has made me even more of a beast!"
This isn't the first time that Lil' Kim has tried to incorporate her fans into her life as a new mom. During her pregnancy, the starlet tweeted a link to her baby registry, so that her fans could send her gifts. If that isn't a one-on-one connection with your fans, I don't know what is. Among the high-end stores included on Kim's registry were Tiffany & Co., Petit Trésor and Bel Bambini.
