Cheryl Cole marries her French lover after only 3 months
Cheryl Cole has found love again, and she wasn't about to let him get away! The singer has tied the knot with her French beau Jean-Bernard Fernandez-Versini in a secret ceremony on a Caribbean island after just three months of dating.
The former Girls Aloud singer is said to have exchanged vows with the restaurant owner on a beach in Mustique on Monday, July 7, surrounded by only four guests, The Mirror reports.
Among the guests for the secret affair were the singer's mother Joan Callaghan and her personal assistant Lily England. After much speculation as to whether the "Call My Name" hit maker had married her beau, she finally took to Instagram to address the rumors herself.
"I usually do not discuss my personal life but to stop the speculation I want to share my happy news... Jean-Bernard and I married on 7/7/14.. We are very happy and excited to move forward with our lives together," she said in the caption that appeared with a picture of her gorgeous wedding ring.
However, Cheryl was reluctant to give any further information about her nuptials.
This comes as her second wedding as she was previously married to former Chelsea footballer Ashley Cole from 2006 to 2010, following a lengthy nine-year engagement. However, the British singer suffered heartbreak at the hands of her former husband, who cheated on her with several women during their marriage.
We're glad the former The X Factor USA judge has found love again because it wasn't long ago that she revealed to Elle magazine that she had not been in a good place following her public humiliation and firing from the show.
"I can talk about this because I'm OK about it now," she said. "But I went through hell and it literally drove me mad. I became so desensitized, you could say terrible things to me and I wouldn't even think about it."
"It only hit me at the beginning of 2013 that I'd completely lost myself. I'd look in a mirror and think: 'Who the hell is she?'" the singer added.
However, things are clearly looking up for the star, who, according to BBC News, told OK! magazine that she's in a much happier place now.
"I'm just enjoying finding out who I am. That's good enough right now... I know I'm really lucky because none of what I've been through broke me."
''It actually taught me everything I'm going to need for the rest of my life. I love feeling that I'm strong because I have good women at my side. And I don't give a f*** what people think any more.''
