Azealia Banks dropped from her record label
Azealia Banks has added another burned bridge to her long tally of beefs, and this time it's with her record label. On Thursday, July 10, the femcee took to Twitter to let her fans know that she's finally parting ways with Interscope Records.
After the big reveal, Banks went on to compare herself to the famed Miss Celie in The Color Purple. "Free at last," she tweeted, before retweeting celebratory messages from her fans. Since Banks hit the scene in 2012 with her deliciously catchy "212," she's been hard at work on her debut album Broke With Expensive Taste. However, in the meantime, Banks' big mouth would command headlines as she got provoked beef after beef.
Banks may be free of the ties to her label, but she's going to have an incredibly hard time finding another label. Despite her undeniable talent to spit, Banks has made a reputation for herself and it's not a pretty one. I mean, she even got into it with the stars that she's collaborated with, including Pharrell, Disclosure and Lady Gaga.
Just a few weeks ago, Banks got into it with T.I. when she took subliminal shots at his wife, Tiny. However, the Grand Hustle M.C. fired back in a scathing rant on his Instagram. Nonetheless, Banks might be able to win over some goodwill if she simply focuses on what's most important — and that's her music. Good luck, girl.
