It’s a baby bonanza this week in Hollywood. Not only has Poppy Montgomery, Eva Mendes and Robert Downey, Jr.’s wife announced their pregnancies, Jimmy Kimmel and wife Molly McNearney have welcomed their first child together.
According to E! News, a baby girl was born to the couple on Thursday. The Jimmy Kimmel Live! host has two other kids from his first marriage: son Kevin, 20, and daughter Katie, 22.

The 46-year-old TV personality tweeted out the news to his fans.

The new mom, who is also a staff writer on her husband’s show, demonstrated her own sense of humor and tweeted out a P.S.A. message for all future moms out there.

The couple began dating in 2009, but their engagement was quite spectacular. The proposal went down during an African safari in 2012. They wed in July 2013.
Kimmel announced the pregnancy on the Ellen DeGeneres Show in February.
He joked, “I told my daughter, ‘Listen, there’s only so much love I have to give — you’re gonna have to split it up with the new kid. There’s a finite amount of love and that’s that.’ So they’re dealing with it, but it is very weird at my age. I’m going to be one of those old dads.”

As a veteran dad, he didn’t feel the need to know the gender of the baby, but McNearney certainly did.
He explained, “I would like it to be a surprise and my wife was happy with that idea until about a week ago. She started saying we really need to find out. But I don’t think it matters. I don’t think you need to make the baby’s room blue or pink — it’s inherently ridiculous. I don’t think they can even see colors.”
