Bachelorette reject Cody Sattler joins Bachelor in Paradise

Rejected Bachelorette suitor Cody Sattler has joined the cast of Bachelor in Paradise, claiming he wants another shot at love.

After Andi Dorfman sent Cody Sattler home on The Bachelorette, reports confirm that the rejected suitor has joined the cast of the new spin-off show Bachelor in Paradise.

His heart was broken when he got the infamous “just friends” treatment from Dorfman on their first and last Bachelorette date, but Sattler hasn’t given up and will be looking for love once again. The green-eyed muscle boy will join the cast of another Chris Harrison-hosted Bachelor spinoff.

Hopelessly doting on the gorgeous former assistant district attorney, Sattler was anxious to have a chance to be with Dorfman on a one-one-one date. But after he groveled all over her during dinner, he was stopped short and told he was a great friend, but nothing more.

Dorfman wasn’t feeling it with Sattler and she said she’d rather send him home now and not drag him through another week thinking he had a chance. While the tanned, Tintin-haired personal trainer looked hurt and surprised when Dorfman dumped him, he took it very graciously and accepted his fate.

“Cody was one of the most genuine and grateful guys I have ever met,” Dorfman wrote on her People magazine blog. “Despite our time in Verona, unfortunately it became clear that my romantic connection with Cody wasn’t where it should have been.”

While Sattler was always sweet and even referred to by the other guys on the show as a “puppy,” he could also unleash some attitude if he had to. This was clearly evident when he confronted his fellow contestant, the very confident Nick, for being arrogant and acting differently around the guys than he does with Dorfman.

Sattler’s hidden temperament should come in handy when he’s competing on Paradise. The new series will surely lend itself to a more hostile environment, given the nature of other recent Bachelor spin-offs. At least Sattler will have some friendly faces around as fellow Dorfman season competitor Marquel Martin has also joined the Paradise cast.

Bachelor in Paradise premieres Monday, Aug. 4 on ABC.
