Who’s the hotter hottie among the men of Fault in Our Stars — Ansel Elgort or Nat Wolff? We break it down to help you decide.
Ansel Elgort was born March 14, 1994, in New York City, New York, to a photographer father and an opera director mother. He is the baby of the family, with two older siblings. He is of Russian Jewish, English, German and Norwegian descent. He started taking acting classes when he was 12 and appeared in an off-Broadway play, Regrets, in 2012.
Ansel’s first on-screen role was in the remake of Carrie (2013). After filming Divergent, he booked the role of Augustus Waters in the film adaptation of The Fault in Our Stars and in the upcoming comedy Men, Women and Children. He is also a classically trained dancer and a DJ.
- Nat and Ansel are real-life best buds. They lived in adjacent apartments while filming The Fault in Our Stars.
- He DJs and produces dance music under the alias “Ansolo” and recently signed a record deal.
- He modeled for Teen Vogue when he was 15.
He is a trained dancer and clearly keeps fit.
He did a photo shoot for a charity calendar called “The 12 Months of Ansel” for his old school.
He attended Fiorello H. LaGuardia High School of Music & Art and Performing Arts.
Despite the rumors that he and Shailene Woodley are dating, Ansel really wants to keep his private life private, stating, “It goes back to what Kate Winslet told me: ‘There’s a part of your life that needs to be your own.’ I don’t know why who I’m in love with needs to be public knowledge.” Smart kid.
Nathaniel Marvin Wolff was born December 17, 1994, in Los Angeles, California, to a jazz pianist father and an actress mother. Nat started writing his own songs by the age of 5 and formed a band by the time he was in preschool. At age 9, he starred in a musical comedy film that his mother directed. That film was bought by Nickelodeon and became the pilot for the television series The Naked Brothers Band.
When Nat was 6, the Naked Brothers Band produced two soundtrack albums and the single “Crazy Car” reached No. 23 on the Top 200 Billboard Charts, making Nat the youngest person ever to compose a charting song. To this date, he has written more than 170 songs. His other film credits include New Year’s Eve, Peace, Love & Misunderstanding and Admission, and he is set to star in John Green’s next film adaptation, Paper Towns.
- His nickname is Wolffman.
- He doesn’t have a driver’s license.
- His favorite teams are the LA Lakers, NY Yankees and NY Giants.
He likes to play basketball.
He is wise beyond his years and says he can find the hidden lesson in every situation. Referencing a line from The Fault in Our Stars, “Loved deeply but not widely,” Nat states, “Everyone has this fascination with the more people that love you, the better person you are. But if you can truly give yourself to one person or few, like your family, close friends, girlfriend, boyfriend, whatever, that’s more important.”
He attended private school but left to focus on acting.
Nat is currently single. Rumors have had him linked to Margaret Qualley and Miranda Cosgrove. He claims his dating deal breaker is someone who doesn’t laugh.
