The return of The Fosters is just around the corner and we're beyond excited. We can't wait to see what's going to happen with Brandon's hand and watch Jude grow and explore who he is. Mostly, though, we're excited to watch as Callie's family grows. In case you missed the news, Kerr Smith (Dawson's Creek) has been cast as Callie's biological father. We've also learned Bailee Madison is joining the cast and we have some speculation on who she might play. Oh, The Fosters Season 2 is going to be brilliant.
Perhaps most exciting is the news that Smith has joined the cast for Season 2 and will play Callie's biological father. As you may remember, during the first season the Fosters were supposed to adopt Callie, but they couldn't because her biological father was still sort of around, but in prison. Jude was adopted, but Callie was left, once again, without a family. Smith, 42, will play Callie's father and will apparently be around for a multiple-episode arc. We just can't imagine this super-hot dude playing the father of a teenager. We can't wait to see how it all plays out. Hopefully he won't bring too much upheaval into Callie's new life.
There's also news that Bailee Madison is joining the cast for season 2. We can't yet share her exact role, but we're down for some speculating. Will she play Brandon's new love interest now that Callie has given him a final no? Maybe she'll play Callie or Jude's sibling. She looks a lot like either of them, so she could just as easily share a dad with Jude as she could with Callie. Or maybe all three will share their mother? The Trophy Wife, Once Upon a Time and Bridge to Teribithia actress is insanely talented. We're sure no matter who she plays, she'll be great.
The Fosters Season 2 premieres on June 16 on ABC Family. From everything we've heard, it's going to be an awesome season.
