Cowles enjoyed a successful career in soap operas and was best known for his role as Billy Clyde Tuggle on All My Children — a role he starred in for almost four decades. He also appeared on the big screen in films such as Shutter Island, The Juror and The Living Wake.
This is a very sad time for all those who loved the actor. He is survived by his wife of more than 30 years, Emmy Award and Tony Award winner Christine Baranski, who is currently celebrated for her role as Diane Lockhart on The Good Wife.
Broadway was also in Cowles’ blood. According to Variety, he was the son of Broadway producer Chandler Cowles, and the 69-year-old star also appeared in revivals of Broadway productions The Time of Your Life, Malcolm and Sweet Bird of Youth.
Our thoughts are with Cowles’ family and friends during this sad time.
