Elin Nordegren breaks her silence on Tiger Woods, divorce
Elin Nordegren had to deal with a very public cheating scandal, but she made it through and is now focusing on her children and her friendship with her ex, Tiger Woods.
It has been nearly four years since Tiger Woods and Elin Nordegren announced they were planning to divorce, but Nordegren hasn't opened up about the end of their marriage or what led up to it. But the Swedish beauty finally spoke to People, and said things are "really good" between herself and Woods.
Nordegren and Woods share custody of their two children — 6-year-old Sam and 5-year-old Charlie — and have apparently maintained a cordial relationship.
"I have moved on and I am in a good place," Nordegren explained. "My relationship with Tiger is centered around our children and we are doing really good — we really are — and I am so happy that is the case. He is a great father."
Nordegren and Woods split up months after a cheating scandal revealed the golf star had not been faithful to his wife. But Nordegren said she has been seeing a therapist ever since and has been "working on myself." She also admitted that she knew they would become friends again, because her divorced parents eventually did the same.
"In the beginning, you tamp down the animosity for the kids' sake," Nordegren said. "I'm not going to deny that I went through the wringer. But I don't think I doubted we'd end up here. That was always my dream, that the kids can have two loving parents that show respect for each other. And I feel that's what they have."
The friendship appears to be so close that Nordegren and Woods' current girlfriend, Lindsey Vonn, have even become close.
"After meeting her, she found she actually liked her," a source told Us Weekly back in April. "You'd think it would be weird, but Elin loves Lindsey and they talk all the time. Elin likes that Lindsey is a strong woman."
Nordegren has dated over the years, as well, but seems to be putting motherhood above everything else.
