Lea Michele enjoyed a highly publicized relationship with Glee co-star and boyfriend Cory Monteith before his untimely death. However, in the 27-year-old star’s new book Brunette Ambition, she reveals Monteith is not the only co-star she’s dated.
Yep, that’s right. Michele was previously involved with another man she now shares the show’s set with: Matthew Morrison! However, the pair had met before their Glee days when they starred on the Broadway beat and dated only briefly.
This news doesn’t completely shock fans, of course, because the pair were rumored to have had a romantic connection during their early days together on Glee. And now it appears the New Year’s Eve actress has finally revealed the truth about her romantic connection with Morrison.
“When we shot the pilot, I met Cory Monteith, Kevin McHale, Amber Riley, and Chris Colfer for the first time,” the “Cannonball” singer writes in her book, E! News reports. “I had worked on Broadway with Jenna Ushkowitz and Matthew Morrison before. Matt had been a friend of mine for years, and in fact we’d actually dated back in the day for a Broadway beat.”
However, Michele was not the only star to have denied any romantic link between them. Morrison told Parade magazine back in 2010 that the rumors of the pair’s romance were completely laughable.
“We were literally on set and I got a call from my publicist [about Lea], and [Lea] got a call a minute later and we looked at each other like, ‘What the f***?’ It’s so laughable.”
Well, although the pair downplayed their romance for years, Michele has now let the cat out of the bag!
