Blake Lively had a frigid introduction to marriage
Ryan Reynolds revealed that he dragged Blake Lively to the arctic-cold conditions of Canada after their 2012 honeymoon in Africa.
Blake Lively has been missing in action from the big screen for a while, but she has good reason as she's been living life as wife to Ryan Reynolds. On Friday, May 16, reporters learned that Lively is a heck of a dedicated wife when Reynolds revealed that he actually dragged her to the arctic-cold conditions of Canada for the filming of his movie Captives right after their 2012 honeymoon in Africa.
"I dragged my wife from our honeymoon in Africa and landed her in Ontario, Canada, when it was -40 degrees," the actor confessed during a press conference for the film at the 2014 Cannes Film Festival. Reynolds also told reporters that the then-newlyweds faced a challenge when they camped in a "little roadside hotel" where they stayed for a month during the project's filming.
Reynolds didn't suffer much from the transition because he's Canadian, so he's used to the severe conditions. Lively, on the other hand, is from the sunny state of California, so you'd think that it wouldn't be as smooth of a transition. Think again. "Ironically, she coped with it far better than I did," Reynolds admitted.
Lively kicked off the weekend with a string of headlines for her killer fashion on the Cannes red carpet. Whether it was her gorgeous gown from Chanel's Spring 2014 collection or her thigh-popping burgundy Gucci dress, Lively stormed the movie festival's red carpet in a big way. And if you're wondering how she maintains that thin physique, Blake told Vogue Paris last year that she eats chocolate in the morning and at night. "I'm lucky to have an active lifestyle. I'm always running around everywhere... So I don't need to hire a coach or watch what I eat," the actress said.
