Gwyneth Paltrow was very vocal in her criticism of the 2013 Met Gala. After last year's event, we learned that former BFF Madonna snubbed Gwynnie at the A-list affair. This year, both celebs were conspicuously absent. Here is what they did instead.

So what did Madonna do instead of attend the 2014 Met Gala? She did what she always does when she's bored — she flashed her boobs — on Instagram.

Guess we'll just be the ones to say it, again — since Madonna is not getting the message. Madonna, put the girls away. The twins look great for 55 years old, but they're tired. They'd like to get through one event without being put on display. Most boobs get to retire around 50, and Madonna's fun bags are becoming resentful that they don't get to just sag (privately) in their golden years like their peers. Have a heart, Madonna. And then put a shirt on over it.

Former BFF Madonna snubbed Gwyneth Paltrow at the 2013 Met Gala, and tongues are still wagging about it. Madge went out of her way to "consciously uncouple" from Paltrow at last year's event, yacking it up with Beyoncé instead. After the event, Paltrow publicly pouted. She told USA Today, "I'm never going again. It was so un-fun. It was boiling. It was too crowded. I did not enjoy it at all." Paltrow then brought the point home on an Australian radio show. "It sucked. It seems like it's the best thing in the world, you always think, 'Oh, my god, it's gonna be so glamorous and amazing and you're going to see all these people,' and then you get there and it's so hot and it's so crowded and everyone's pushing you."

True to her word, Paltrow sat out this year's Met Gala in Southern California, soaking up the sun with her daughter Apple.
