After 20 years of marriage, Cuba Gooding Jr.’s wife has decided to call it quits and files for a separation from her husband.
Sara Kapfer filed for a separation from her husband, Cuba Gooding Jr., when she decided to call it quits on their 20-year marriage.
Citing the ever-popular “irreconcilable differences” so widely used among Hollywood celebrities, Kapfer filed her papers on Tuesday at the LA County Superior Court. She and Gooding were together since high school and got married in 1994.

Kapfer, who shares three children with Gooding, wants joint legal and physical custody of their two minor children, TMZ reported. Child support will be decided upon at a later date.
The split may come as a surprise to many since Gooding and Kapfer seemed happy after so many years together. The two got married before Gooding famously won his Academy Award for Best Actor in a Supporting Role in the 1996 blockbuster hit Jerry Maguire.

Ironically, just last year, Gooding gushed about his wife on The View and gloated about their long-lasting relationship.
“Like I always say, it’s been five women I’ve been with,” Gooding said at the time. “I was with the high school girl, then the college girl, then the newlywed, and then the mother, and now she’s dealing with the kids leaving the house… She has been changing into this other woman that I have to introduce myself to every few years. And thank God I’ve fallen in love with each one. It’s true. I’m lucky that way.”

Oddly, however, Gooding also made another comment: He joked about Kapfer being hard to deal with after the children began to get ready to be on their own.
“I wanna kill her sometimes,” he said, laughing. “And she puts up with me.”
