Miley Cyrus hospitalized after "severe allergic reaction"
Miley Cyrus has been working hard for the last month on her Bangerz tour, but she had a health scare after suffering an allergic reaction.
Miley Cyrus' Bangerz tour has been plagued by illness, and the singer is now dealing with something else. Her Kansas City date was canceled on Tuesday, April 15, after she was taken to the hospital.
A source told E! News that the show was canceled due to "an absolutely horrible reaction" to medication. The Sprint Center released a statement to the Kansas City Star about the cancellation, which said: "Miley Cyrus' Bangerz tour date scheduled for tonight, April 15, at Sprint Center in Kansas City has been canceled. Cyrus has been hospitalized for a severe allergic reaction to antibiotics and has been placed on medical rest by her doctors. She will not be able to perform as scheduled. Refunds for tickets will be available at the point of ticket purchase. Tickets purchased online or by phone will be automatically refunded.”
The singer has been dealing with the loss of her dog, Floyd, which has coincided with her sicknesses. Sources told TMZ that Floyd's death has sent Cyrus into a downward spiral, causing her to drink heavily and possibly abuse drugs, leaving her exhausted, leading to an illness which required the antibiotics that left her hospitalized.
The Sprint Center said Cyrus' crew began working in the arena at 5 a.m., not aware the show would be canceled. Earlier in the day, Cyrus tweeted that she had woken up sick.
The allergic reaction was enough to send Cyrus to the hospital, but the singer was obviously healthy enough to tweet to her fans.
"Kansas I promise Im as [heartbroken] as you are. I wanted so badly 2 b there 2night. Not being with yall makes me feel sh***ier than I already do," she tweeted.
She later tweeted a photo of herself in the hospital bed, looking pale but awake.
