What is going on with Jennette McCurdy and Nickelodeon lately? The news that the two are feuding surfaced on Twitter when the young star was notably absent from Saturday's Kids' Choice Awards.

Rumors were rampant that the network might have been upset with the 21-year-old over leaked photos that show the Sam and Cat actress in various stages of undress. Given that she's on a show geared toward kids, that might have been a good reason.

Other reports speculate that she and costar Ariana Grande do not get along. Fans noticed that McCurdy was no longer following Grande on Twitter, so that just added fuel to the fire.

On Saturday, the former iCarly star tweeted out some cryptic messages that really got everyone going.

She wrote, "A lot of you guys are asking why I didn't attend the KCAs.... I wish I could explain everything as thoroughly as I would like to, but unfortunately a simpler explanation is all I can write. I was put in an uncomfortable, compromising, unfair situation (many of you have guessed what it is) and I had to look out for me. I chose to not go because sticking up for what is right and what is fair is what my mom taught me is ALWAYS the most important thing. I want to thank those of you who have reached out with kind words of support, McCurdians and Arianators alike. No matter who or what you support, I believe in supporting fairness first. If you have done that, thank you."

She then followed it up with several clarifications.

According to TMZ, the feud between the kids' network and the starlet is over money. Their sources are saying that Grande makes a much bigger paycheck than McCurdy and she wants them to pay up. Unfortunately, the negotiations are going nowhere right now.

The source also shared that McCurdy has no problem with Grande, just the network. The network told the gossip site, "We have nothing but the utmost respect for Jennette and her talent."

In the meantime, fans are waiting to hear if their beloved show got picked up for a second season after a heavy 40-episode first season. If contract negotiations take a long time, so will Season 2.
