Kim Basinger has admitted that she worries about the future of young people because they appear to have become so self-absorbed, vain and unmotivated.
According to Page Six, the Grudge Match actress revealed her views on the younger generation, saying, "If you look at this generation of selfies and selfies and selfies, it seems a little bit scary. I like to see a driven kid, somebody who wants to come from the ground up... you just don't know what's going to happen to this generation."
And the L.A. Confidential star has reason to be concerned about the younger generation — she has an 18-year-old daughter, Ireland Baldwin, whom she shares with former spouse Alec Baldwin.
Ireland is a beautiful girl who has landed a deal with prestigious IMG modeling agency, and Basinger is adamant that she has worked hard to get where she is today. Although, we have to wonder what the former Bond girl thinks of her daughter's selfies?
Basinger previously revealed to People magazine, "She grew up in the limelight but I tried to provide stability and a quieter world. You just want them to follow their own path, and she totally did this on her own."
''I think she wanted to stick her foot in [the modeling world] and see what it would bring. And she's doing extremely well.''
And although the 60-year-old actress has been praised for her beauty, she doesn't feel like that is a true portrayal of her at all. According to Page Six, Basinger said, "I'm more bare-footed Rastafarian, crazy."
