Sarah Hyland groped by fan at meet and greet
Modern Family star Sarah Hyland fled a meet and greet after she says a fan acted incredibly inappropriately — and now the police are involved.
Sarah Hyland fled a party in tears after allegedly being sexually assaulted by a fan at a meet and greet.
The Modern Family star was posing for photos before a party hosted by Qantas at The Sebel Pier One in Sydney, Australia, when she says the male fan grabbed her breast.
Witnesses saw Hyland push the man away and scream, "Don't touch me there!" before her security team stepped in. Needless to say, her night was ruined and she reportedly left the party by the back door in a flood of tears.
Hyland's boyfriend actor Matt Prokop angrily tweeted about the event, writing, "To the a****** who assaulted Sarah tonight I hope to God you don't see next week… All Sarah wanted to do tonight was say hi to the girls who were waiting outside one douche can ruin it for everyone. Goodnight."
Local authorities confirmed the investigation to the Daily Mail. "A man is assisting police with investigations following an alleged indecent assault of a woman yesterday," a police spokesperson said. "It is alleged the man indecently assaulted the 23-year-old woman near Hickson Road, The Rocks, at about 7:50pm."
"A 29-year-old man was arrested. Police are continuing their investigations."
Hyland mentioned the alleged assault in a tweet to fans afterward.
Hyland is Down Under filming a special holiday episode of her hit comedy show.
