The happy couple have been in a committed relationship for more than seven years already and share a beautiful little daughter Peyton Nicole, 5. So it was about time the "Every Time I Close My Eyes" hit maker rewarded his lady with a diamond ring.

Edmonds confirmed to the Los Angeles Times that the engagement rumors were true. He said, "I'm happy to say I'm on the love marriage path. I'm a very lucky guy!"

During an interview with BET, Edmonds was joined by his longtime collaborator and friend Toni Braxton as the pair discussed their latest album Love, Marriage & Divorce, and the Grammy winner hinted at his engagement.

Braxton asked, "So I guess the important question that everybody wants to know from you, would you ever consider getting married again?"

Edmonds gave a surprising response, "I've already considered it. I'm engaged, so yes."

It seems that Pantenburg is truly the love of the 54-year-old star's life, and one of the reasons the couple have already enjoyed a happy seven years together is because they are always honest about their feelings.

Edmonds, who was previously married to Tracey Edmonds for 13 years, touched on the things he has learned about love over the years.

He admitted, "The main thing is being honest with yourself and being honest with your feelings. When we're not honest with ourselves, we just accept situations, don't talk about them and, as you said, ignore the elephant in the room. You better recognize there is an elephant in the room and deal with it, because a lot of times the elephant in the room is the one that you put in there, so you have to deal with it."

Well, it appears there are no elephants in the room or problems when it comes to Edmonds' relationship with his lady. So we offer a very big congratulations to the happy couple on their exciting news!
