Notice anything different about Kelly Ripa during Friday's episode of Live with Kelly and Michael? The 43-year-old mother of three surprised viewers by settling into her usual seat without one bit of makeup on!
"Calm down. We'll all get through this together," Ripa joked to the audience in her opening remarks while sitting next to co-host Michael Strahan. "Don't adjust your dials. There's nothing wrong with your TV. One of us is wearing makeup today, and one of us isn't. Not even anti-shine. I labored under the delusion that I looked OK without makeup until I came out here, and I went, 'Oh, my God!'"
"You look great and really fresh" Strahan said supportively before explaining Ripa was going makeup-free to pay up on a Super Bowl bet she'd lost.
"I've never lost a Super Bowl bet, ever, in my life," Ripa explained. "So imagine A, losing; B, losing and you can't wear makeup and C... what's C?"
C, it turns out, stands for Clooney! The actor was one of the show's guests for the day.
"You look great," Strahan added reassuringly. "I'm happy you lived up to your bet."
How does Kelly Ripa manage to look so flawless even without makeup?
She told SheKnows previously, "Nothing works for me as well as Botox. Literally, nothing works as well as that! It's true — I say it on my show, too. I put on all the eye creams, and I put on all the other stuff, but for me, [Botox] really does somehow have a profound effect on my face."
As for makeup, Ripa added, "I think whatever comes free in a goody bag is my favorite. It's true. Whatever's free, that's what I like! I love that Rose Salve balm. I think it's so nice everywhere. I put it everywhere... lips, elbows, knees, everywhere that might chafe. I love Tom Ford Nude Vanille lipstick. It's very Farrah Fawcett in Charlie's Angels. But as soon as the cameras are off, I wash my face. I'm a no-makeup girl!"
