Just when Game of Thrones actress Carice van Houten was about to spill the details on Season 4, someone showed up proving to be quite the distraction. It was none other than Breaking Bad actress Anna Gunn, who caused a stir as she arrived on the scene at the SAG Awards. Even van Houten got starstruck, trailing away from the interview to get a look at Gunn.
“I’m a complete fan of hers,” van Houten gushed.
We don’t blame van Houten for getting distracted. Anna Gunn was stunning in a glittering midnight-blue gown from Monique Lhuillier. You can see her dress in the video above. Of course, the standout accessory of the night was Gunn’s custom-made, Breaking Bad–themed clutch from designer Brett Heyman of the brand Edie Parker.
Luckily, van Houten was nice enough to stick around and give us some dirt on Game of Thrones before she went to introduce herself to Gunn.
She told us Season 4 is going to get “nasty.”
In the show, van Houten plays red-haired Melisandre, who is an advisor and (sometimes) lover to wannabe king Stannis Baratheon.
“It’s becoming more and more interesting every season,” van Houten said.
She was tight-lipped on specifics, however.
“You won’t be disappointed. That’s all I can say.”
Van Houten and the rest of the Game of Thrones cast were nominated for the SAG Award for Best Ensemble in a TV drama. Ironically, after our interview, that award ended up going to the Breaking Bad cast. We think van Houten would agree the win was well-deserved.
Season 4 of Game of Thrones premieres in April on HBO.
