Patrick Swayze's widow, Lisa Niemi, finds love again
Love is just as sweet the second time around! Patrick Swayze's longtime love, Lisa Niemi, is engaged.
The 57-year-old was married to the Dirty Dancing star for 34 years. Swayze lost his battle with pancreatic cancer in September 2009.
A year after his passing, Niemi talked to People about possibly getting married in the future.
She revealed, "I would love companionship love. Absolutely. I hope I'm not one of these women who never want to have another relationship. But who knows, that's another bridge I'll cross when I come to it. I may get there and go, I don't know. But I like to think that I can."
The actress and dancer's new love is jeweler Albert DePrisco. According to People, the couple met at Neimi's birthday party through mutual friends. They have been dating for a year and a half.
Her rep confirmed, "Albert proposed to Lisa on Christmas Eve."
Things were very sweet even at the beginning of their courtship. The National Enquirer reported on their early dating days back in the fall of 2012.
A source told the magazine, "Albert is very generous and has given Lisa some expensive jewelry from his family's shops. Lisa is very impressed, and her affection for him is obvious."
Congratulations, Lisa and Albert!
