Katy Perry, Miley Cyrus attend Britney's Vegas show
Britney Spears kicked off a two-year residency Friday night, and she had plenty of famous friends there to wish her luck.
After months of anticipation, Britney Spears' Las Vegas residency finally kicked off on Friday night, and there were plenty of stars in the audience.
The Piece of Me residency at Planet Hollywood Resort & Casino in Vegas will last two years, and the reviews so far are mixed. Although Spears wears a microphone while onstage, there are a lot of critics who think she lip-synched through the whole show. The show also includes several wigs and costumes, according to E! News. The set list is diverse, spanning her whole career — including her latest release, Britney Jean.
In true Britney style, most songs came with a costume change, and the production values were impressive. Spears' style lends itself to a full entertainment experience, and this show will be no different.
Spears tweeted her excitement after Friday's show.
Spears signed the papers for her new gig back in September, joining the ranks of such celebs as Elton John, Celine Dion, Cher and Wayne Newton. After Friday's show, the singer also thanked the many celebs in attendance.
Miley Cyrus also held a party after the show, with many famous people in attendance. The guest list included Kellan Lutz, the actor Cyrus is rumored to be dating.
An Instagram user posted a video of Cyrus' dance moves during Spears' set.
Celine Dion, who spent years performing in Vegas, also sent Spears a good-luck token before the show.
Congrats to Britney on a successful first show!
