Jennifer Aniston seems like she always has it together, so what is it like to go through your awkward phase while married to the sexiest man alive?

Jennifer Aniston has always seemed like the picture of calm, collected and confident. But it wasn't always so. The actress revealed she had the awkward phase most women go through — but she did it in front of the world.

Aniston turns 45 in February, and spoke with Parade about what she wishes she knew at 25 that she knows now.

"That there’s nothing to worry about — although I don’t think I had a care in the world at 25, either. That all started in my 30s, my awkward phase," she explained. "I'm a little bit of a late bloomer! But it doesn't matter to me because it just gets better. They do say youth is wasted on the young, but I feel just as youthful now — if not more — than I did when I was 25. I'm more in my body; I’m more in my mind. Life is full. Life is wonderful. We’re very, very fortunate."

Aniston, who still (only occasionally) has some awkward moments, was married to Brad Pitt from 2000 to 2005 — which put her at 31 at the wedding, right in the middle of those awkward years. She is again engaged, and sounds like she is as happy as she has ever been.?

"I feel most beautiful when I'm just at home with [fiancé] Justin Theroux in the morning. Or any time of day I'm with him," she explained.

Besides just being happy in her private life, she is also happy in her professional life. Her film We're The Millers may have been one of the box office surprises of the year — earning nearly $270 million worldwide. She is also currently working on numerous new projects.

"My life is so fantastic. I'm so happy. There are a lot of exciting things that I'm excited about doing," she said. "We're about to do a sequel to Horrible Bosses, which is such a fun character for me. And I think I’m going to try at some point next year to direct a full-length feature, which I’m extremely excited about. I'm just so happy and I’m grateful for my fans. I just hope I keep doing work that they love."

Aniston is living life as it comes — recently celebrating the holidays with some of her best friends, including Gwyneth Paltrow, Courteney Cox, Robert Downey, Jr. and Jason Bateman.

There is not yet any word on a wedding date, but Aniston is obviously doing things her way now.
