Vin Diesel visited the site of his friend and co-star Paul Walker's death Monday night to pay tribute to his fallen "brother" and thank fans for their overwhelming love and support.

The actor spoke to gathered mourners through a police car loudspeaker and thanked them for showing Walker's friends and family how much he was loved.

"If my brother were here right now and saw all the love that you're bringing here. If he could see for himself that all of you have showed up to show my brother love at this hard time. That his family gets to see all of you show the love that you've shown Paul. It's going to stay with me forever," the Fast & Furious actor told the gathered crowd.

"I just wanted to say thank you. Thank you for coming down here and showing that angel up in heaven how much you appreciate him. It's going to stay with me forever."

Walker's father was overcome with grief when speaking with reporters yesterday, telling press how much the actor was loved.

"I always told him that [I loved him], I always gave him a kiss," he told KABC in Los Angeles. "I knew that eventually he might come to realize what a good person he was, his casual honesty… his smile."

"I'm glad to say the last time I was with him, we had a great, great talk about how he wanted to spend more time with his daughter Meadow," he said. "Plans, things he wanted to do, things he was thinking about. He talked about everything but the film industry."

"We lost a spirit," he added. "I'm devastated."

Police no longer believe Walker and driver Roger Rodas were street racing at the time of the crash, but are still looking at speed being a factor. Sources who were with the pair in the minutes before they left for their fatal ride say there was a mechanical issue with the Porsche Carrera GT that may have caused Rodas to lose control of the vehicle before slamming into a pole and four trees before bursting into flames.

"As they were backing up the Carrera to put into the garage, it started stalling. I heard someone say, and I think it was Roger, 'Why is the car stalling? Let's take it around the block'," the witness told The Hollywood Reporter. "Paul said, 'Let me go with you really quickly.'"

"The whole premise of taking the car out for a drive was because something was wrong."

"These guys are business owners and Paul was a celebrity," the insider continued. "They are responsible people. It was more like, 'What the hell is wrong with this car? Let's see what's wrong and go for a drive.' These guys were more like, 'That's weird, the car is stalling, let's figure it out.'"

Police are continuing their investigation.
