One year since her divorce from Tom Cruise, Katie Holmes incited the rumor mill by dancing it up with Jamie Foxx, sending romance sparks all over the internet. But, is the pair really an item, or were they just having fun?
According to a Us Weekly insider, the two are not dating but “have been friends a long time.” However, another witness told the magazine that Foxx actually tried to hook up with Holmes when “they danced, and after a hug he grabbed her butt and tried to seal the deal.”
However, while the single mom was quite “flattered,” she was not interested in pursuing Foxx’s advances. Besides, even though Holmes’ relationship with Cruise is finished, the Oblivion star and Foxx have been good friends since starring on Collateral together in 2004. A relationship between Holmes and Foxx would definitely break the “guy code” in this case.
Meanwhile, other sources told Radaronline that “Katie repeatedly grabbed Jamie’s arm and generally looked happier than she has in ages.” Plus, another source told Diary of a Hollywood Street King that Holmes and Foxx have actually been seeing each other quietly for “a few months.”
But, reiterating other sources’ claims, Holmes’ publicist was quick to dismiss any romantic link with Foxx according to Perez Hilton, saying that, “they are not dating; they have been friends for years.”
This is the first time that romantic rumors have surfaced between the supposed friends, and neither Holmes nor her ex, Cruise, have been linked to anyone relationship-wise since their divorce.
Holmes has said that she is happy now without Cruise and has been keeping herself busy with work and taking care of their 7-year-old daughter, Suri. Cruise has been on a similar path, also immersed in movie projects and vacationing with Suri whenever he can.
When Holmes first filed for divorce, Cruise was “blindsided” with the news and was apparently not aware of any problems between him and his wife.
“Life is a challenge. You are 50 and you think you have everything in order, ” Cruise told The Daily Mail, “and suddenly it hits you, that’s not what life is all about.”
