Sofia Vergara describes beauty as "automatic"
Actress-comedian Sofia Vergara says she doesn't believe in the natural look and never leaves her house without getting dressed up. She also admits to a secret obsession.
Having celebrated her 41st birthday on Wednesday, the Colombian beauty Sofia Vergara tweeted, "Happy Birthday to me! My Harper's Bazaar cover out today!"
What better way to celebrate a birthday than to be on the front cover of Harper's Bazaar? While the actress may be able to enjoy a slice of cake on her birthday, she is a woman who understands her body and knows how to make it look good.
Applying makeup and getting dressed up has become an automatic part of her everyday life, as she told the magazine.
"I'm Latin. I get glammed up no matter what. It's automatic. I shower, do hair and makeup. For me, it's like shaving. I don't believe in a natural look. Lipstick brightens your face," Vergara said.
She explained to the magazine how she gives her American friends makeup advice. "Unless you're Gisele Bundchen or 19, you need something. Most of my girlfriends are very good with it because they're Latin, but some of the Americans, I give them lipstick like 'put it on'."
The August 2013 cover model also shared her obsession for bags. She's got a massive collection of Hermes Birkin bags, which can cost up to a whopping $10,000 each!
"I tell [my son] Manolo, ‘If I don't have enough money for your college this month, you have to sell the Birkins." She also tells her business manager, "What would you prefer? Me popping champagne bottles and doing drugs and wasting money or buying bags? These are valuable. These, Manolo can sell!'"
Aside from a great sense of humor, she makes a good a point — isn't a passion for fashion, beauty and makeup the first love for most women? What do you think?
